Tip #1: Wear something feminine
Resist the urge to wear the same thing you wear to work. Pantsuits are great for the boardroom when you need to appear assertive. However, if you’re going on a date, you should open up and be more relaxed in order to communicate better.
So, take those 5 minutes to change into a dress or a skirt (something you don’t usually wear to work). Not only will it give your date a good impression, it will also make you feel more attractive.
Tip #2 Make sure you wear something you can walk in.
Stilettos can make you look taller and slimmer. But if you don’t feel comfortable, you’ll be thinking about your sore feet instead of what to talk to with your date. Besides, the kind of footwear you’re wearing also depends on the venue.
If you’re meeting your date in a casual coffee shop, leave the stilettos at home.
Consider other alternatives to stilettos like kitten heels or wedges, which helps you draw a balance between comfort and style.
Tip #3 Take off your glasses and wear contact lens
Although many women look great with glasses, having no obstacles on your face feels great and allows for more movement.
As the saying goes: “The eyes are the windows to the soul”. Wearing contacts lets him see your facial expressions better too.
Make sure your contact lens is breathable and comfortable – don’t go crazy with “big eye” lens which causes discomfort. You should be enjoying the date as well.
Tip #4 Choose clothing that compliments you
We all have that piece of clothing we bought during sale season that doesn’t fit well.
Get rid of them or get a tailor to alter them to fit your body shape. Embrace your curves and feel more confident in your own skin.
If body shape, colour tones, and skin tones confuse you, consider seeking a professional’s help.

Tip #5 Put on light makeup
If you’re uncomfortable putting on makeup, work with the bare minimum. You can just do your eyebrows and put on a little concealer for minor spots. Lipstick or lipbalm are also good options instead of lip gloss (which will look sticky and make you feel uncomfortable).
In times when you’re running late, make sure that you wash or clean your hair before the date.
Bonus Tip: Remember to have fun
Don’t expect to “find a husband” during your dates. Keep it light and keep the conversation flowing. While you’re giving him a good impression, you have to also judge whether YOU like this guy and want to take things further.
If you found this helpful, remember to spread the love and share it with your friends!
